Introducing HostServe
American PrintWare Inc.’s HostServe
is a Windows based document delivery and interconnectivity
system capable of transforming mainframe, network, and web
data streams (SNA Character String, LCDS DJDE/Metacode,
XES, AFP, IPDS, Xerox VIPP™, Line Printer, PCL, PostScript,
PDF, TIFF, JPEG, DOC, RTF, HTML, EMF) into an array of output
formats (PCL, PostScript, PDF, TIFF, JPEG, BMP, HTML, XML,
ASCII or Database, with associated indexes) and offers the
user great freedom in the delivery and formatting of vital
business information. Users can view, edit/repurpose, index,
sort, print, and archive documents—regardless of origination—anywhere,
at any time using a wide variety of printers, viewers, archival,
content management or document management systems.
HostServe will convert PDF to all of HostServe’s
output languages, PCL5e/c, PostScript, PDF, HTML, DJDE,
TIFF, BMP, XML, Database, Line printer and EMF. Conversion
to HTML includes all links. HostServe provides all of the
PDF emulation code.
PDF Indexing, XML Tagging, Line
Printer
The documents are analyzed for document type so the two
different types of PDF documents can be distinguished based
on the document type. Each document can have a different
Indexing, XML or Line Printer Recipe.
Bursting
and Naming
Large document runs can be broken down into individual documents
and the individual file names gleaned from the data for
each individual document.
Converts
to PostScript or PCL-Decodes Print Commands
PDF can be encoded with commands such as Overlay Form, Re-mapping
Recipe, Media Type, Trays, Duplex, Booklets, Punching, and
Stapling. This is accomplished by placing the finishing
commands in the page text. The command sequence is $Media
Letter, or $Tray 1. These commands are then removed from
the printed or distributed document and are sent as printing
commands.
