General
description
Stores and reschedules your spooled output for automatic,
grouping, sorting and printing, The process can also be
applied to e-mail, archive or re-cycled lasernet processing.
Schedule & Sort is primarily designed for companies
with larger volume print runs which can benefit by collating
documents that are going to the same postal address.
This saves on manual sorting costs and multiple postage
costs.
If you run your own print room it allows you to manage
any printing bottlenecks, collate print jobs with common
destinations and to print these jobs where they require
operator involvement during normal working
hours. If you automatically distribute printed copies to
remote network printers on an ad hoc basis, it allows you
to collect and print them as mini batches which will assist
document processing, filing and reduce inadvertent loss.
In addition, print ready output can be sorted packaged,
zipped and then despatched to print fulfilment houses for
printing, stuffing and mailing which will reduce your third
party handling charges.
- The schedule and sort program is administered and controlled
within a web browser environment.
- The process requires Windows 2000 (or XP) and either
MS SQL 7, MS SQL 2000 or MY SQL.
- You can define an unlimited number of schedule groups,
each can be defined with up to 3 sorting categories and
each group is composed of any number of related documents
types.
- The schedule groups can be set to timed release - Daily,
Weekly, Monthly or held for manual release.
- Sorted output can be sent to any number of different
printers or zipped for onward routing to fulfilment houses.
- The print function can be used to distribute sorted
print groups to specified printers based on the number
of pages (e.g. 1 page documents to Printer 1 and Multiple
Page Documents to Printer 2). This helps you to automate
for example enveloping machines or human processes. It
is also possible to add OMR marks after collation.
- Each schedule group can be defined to its own printer
and events within a schedule can also determine a print
destination.
- It can also provide a short term re-print facility.
At Mees Pierson Schedule and Sort is being used to sort
the end of month client statements. This amounts to over
30,000 documents in any one group. Some customers names
go to a different group for priority printing and special
handling.
