Business communication
Your business documents such as invoices, statements and
order confirmations reflect your attention to quality and
are therefore important representatives of your business.
Unfortunately, the output from most IT applications is limited
in its ability to be adapted to meet your precise information
delivery requirements, and typically they rely heavily on
expensive pre-printed stationery for the logo and other
design elements.
Using LaserNet Output Management gives your company to
produce business documents to you’re your customers and
your companies exacting standards – all without expensive
and complex application coding.
LaserNet provides a single Output Management platform to
manage the design, and electronic distribution of all your
business communications, irrespective of the originating
application or final destination printer
Automatic distribution
LaserNet Output Management can automate the document distribution
internally as well as externally.
All of your documents can be delivered to the desired location,
without the incurring the time and cost of manual intervention.
For example an invoice is automatically copied to the online
archive whilst triggering the delivery note to be printed
in the central distribution area, plus an automatically
launched email to the customer advising when the goods are
being delivered – all without manual input or intervention.
Helps you achieve your business objectives of increased
productivity and efficiency whilst releasing staff from
mundane repetitive tasks so that they concentrate on profit
building and customer service activities.
Conversion to any
format
A standard print can be converted to any format (like PCL,
Postscript, AFP, PDF, XML, EDI, ASCII) and delivered to
any destination (like a printer, fax or email). Also more
exotic formats like: Tiff, RTF, ODBC, BMP, Jpeg and comma
separated (csv) ASCII are supported.
As documents are sent, LaserNet analyses the customer code
in the print stream, and selects the customers preferred
transmission format. So if Customer A prefers documents
attached to emails in PDF format, whilst Customer B prefers
them to be printed and posted, this can be easily arranged
via an easy to use PC format. And once set up it continues
to follow your instructions until you change them.
No changes to your core application required.
Converts your normal print reports into XML output using
standard or custom schemas to drive B2B and e-commerce applications.
In addition LaserNet receives and XML input and converts
it into document format for printed or electronic viewing.
LaserNet converts data into any type of barcode (e.g. i2of5,
3of9, EAN128, EAN13, BC39, plus customer specific formats)
and outputs labels to any bar code or laser printer with
a windows driver.
Also more exotic formats like : Tiff, RTF, ODBC, BMP, Jpeg
and comma separated ASCII are supported.
Easy Maintenance
LaserNet makes it very easy to maintain and make changes
to your document output. It is as easy as 1, 2, 3:
- Document templates are designed and updated in MS Publisher
or Word, enabling this time consuming task to be delegated
to non IT staff. Document design can also be produced
Adobe InDesign, Pagemaker, Paint shop Pro, MS-Powerpoint,
indeed you can generally use the desk top publishing package
that your staff are most familiar with.
- Adding business logic or advanced functions and calculations
demands some education and basic IT-knowledge, see picture:
- LaserNet server based operations require IT management
and should be in the control of a dedicated trained IT
specialist. Even so LaserNet makes output management fast
and easy and does not require high levels of coded programming
experience.
Lasernet level 2 and level 3 requires LaserNet Developer,
which is the development tool for LaserNet.LaserNet can
update and control many servers in different locations irrespective
of geographical divides.

LaserNet level 1 (change of design overlays) can be maintained
and updated by standard windows applications like MS-word,
MS-publisher, Adobe InDesign, Pagemaker. Paint shop Pro,
MS-powerpoint etc.
Lasernet level 2 and level 3 requires LaserNet Developer,
which is the development tool for LaserNet.
One Developer tool can update and control many servers
in different locations.
