LicenseWatch Software Startup Prevention
Today most companies have policies for what applications
is “allowed” to be used. By setting up software policies,
most organizations ends up with the very difficult task
– What software is not allowed to use and how do we prevent
users from using them.
The most common way to prevent applications from being
effectively used is restricting the user access rights for
the internet. By combining firewall blocking with LicenseWatch
the administrator will not only stop unwanted applications
from working, but “stop” the applications from being executed.
LicenseWatch Software Startup Prevention is a powerful
module for blocking all types of 32 bit applications from
being executed. This functionality alines perfectly with
any types of software policies and will proactively prevent
any users from executing unsupported.
The module LicenseWatch Software Startup Prevention lets
any organization setup/build a complete list of unwanted
applications.

The bullet proof technology is based on header information
on all executable files. This will secure that the user
will not be able to execute an application, even when renaming
a specific program file.
LicenseWatch Software Startup Prevention benefits:
- Alines with any defined software policies.
- Software Startup Prevention can be defined for working
in the complete organization or for a part of it. For
more information (See segmentation).
- Stops effectively all 32-bit applications from being
executed, ex. Kazaa.exe, Games.exe or Setup.exe.
- Can work in combination with Microsoft System Management
Server (See LicenseWatch SMS Option),
but will only work with clients/servers running LicenseWatch
agent. Microsoft SMS 2003 does not support software startup
prevention.
