The accounting package provided with RoutXpress will provide the Administrator with print volume and cost information by person, printer, and department. This is a comprehensive audit trail that shows the print volume, number of printed pages, cost of the total print job, cost per page, when the print job was run, who printed it and on what printer.

The accounting information can be used to bill departments, or users. The “budget” feature of RoutXpress can be set up so that users are limited by the number of pages they can print per month/day, or RoutXpress can limit the user by dollar amount. For example, RoutXpress can limit a user to 100 color pages, and 1,000 black & white pages per month. Or, RoutXpress can limit a teacher to $10 of printing per month. This is a very effective way to encourage users to print on less expensive printers, making their $10 per month budget go further.

All print activity is noted and stored for future reference. System print alerts are recorded in the proper report. This information can be used to manage the print fleet, noting which printers fail the most and at what point they should be replaced.
