RoutXpress Key Features
RoutXpress keeps track of all the jobs printed either by account number or by user id.

You may set cost or page limits per day or per month to prevent users exceeding their print budget limits.

You may also view job accounting information and sort it by user or by printer. Sorting the user accounting information by cost allows you to detect the most excessive users.
Administrator sets rules to facilitate more cost effective and efficient printing. Jobs will be automatically re-routed to another printer when:

- It is more cost efective.
- Printer is out of paper.
- Printer is down.
- Job would finish faster.

RoutXpress sends a message to user when job is re-routed or printed.
RoutXpress monitors the progress of jobs and health of printers. It sends alert messages when things go wrong.

This allows users to react more quickly to paper jams and similar issues.

RoutXpress can also send emails to support personnel to alert them to major printer problems.

The alerts expedite problem resolution and lead to improved user satisfaction.
RoutXpress creates accounting reports showing print activity and related cost by users, printers and departments.

There are a number of alerts and notifications that RoutXpress can send.

If a rule is enacted and RoutXpress re-routes a user’s print job to another printer, a IM (Instant Message) will be sent to the user, notifying him that his job was routed to another printer and it is now ready to be picked up. This is very popular with employees and helps improve productivity. In the past, employees would send a print job to the network printer only to find that someone else’s print job had caused a paper jam and now they would have to unclog the printer to get their print job. This does not happen when RoutXpress is running on the network. RoutXpress would know there was a paper jam and route the next print job to the next best printer and send an IM to the user, notifying them of the printer their job was sent to and that it is now ready to be picked up.

RoutXpress can also send e-mail notifications when directed by the Administrator’s rules. For example; when a printer goes down and needs to be serviced, RoutXpress can send an e-mail to the service provider, help desk, and administrator notifying them which printer needs attention. RoutXpress also lessens the severity of this occurrence by routing all the print jobs that employees are sending to the “down” printer, to another printer that is up and running.
