RoutXpress Simulator is a tool that can be used by the customer to optimize their network printing. Simulator displays the customer's printers in the form of a grid and the customer can then drag and drop the rows on top of each other which translates to moving printers from one location to another or moving the volume from a an expensive printer to a production printer. This comes in handy when you want to divert jobs from an over utilized printer to one that is under utilized one resulting in substantial savings.

Figure 1 shows the original location and the volume of the customer's printing network. By clicking the calculate button (calculator icon in the toolbar), customer gets the total printing cost in US $ for that month. Customer having established a base value can now drag and drop printer rows (see figure 2 below) and click on the optimize button (speed dial icon) to calculate the total cost after making the change. If the cost is less that the original then the customer can take the difference as savings that he will get by making the change to his network. Figure 2 shows he swapping of row 60 with row 55 and the resulting savings in the Total Cost column.
